Safety Tips
As with any exercise program, safety is always of the upmost importance. The last thing you want to do is injure yourself trying to get into better shape for surfing before you start!
Maybe talk to your doctor before starting any exercise program, always stop exercise if you feel faint, suffer from dizziness, or feel severe pain.
If you suffer from any back problems some exercises may not be suitable.
Always warm up and cool down!
Have water to hand.
Exercise area suitability
Always give yourself plenty of free space to perform exercises. Choose an area of flooring that IS NON-SLIP with nothing in close proximity that you could fall onto!
- Make sure you understand how to do each exercise properly by carefully reading through and following thy exercise instructions before you start.
Wear proper clothing, skate shoes are not the best type of shoe for training in.
- Allow sufficient rest periods between workouts for recovery and to prevent over training.
- If your new to any type of kit like the Swiss Ball it is advisable to build up the exercise intensity and frequency gradually.
- It is advisable to have someone with you to assist your balance at first when progressing to the more advanced stability exercises.
